This kāhuli (Partulina mighelsiana) is endemic to Moloka'i. The genus Partulina is sister to Achatinella, the O'ahu tree snails. Partulina are most diverse on Maui Nui, but three species once occurred on Big Island (one remains). Although the genus Achatinella may be the most well-known Achatinelline genus, the subfamily Achatinellinae is actually believed to have originated on Maui Nui!
