'Ōpihi 'ālinalina (Cellana sandwicensis), sometimes called yellow-foot 'ōpihi, are endemic to Hawai'i and features prominently in local and Hawaiian culture. This beloved snail is often found in rocky tidal zones pounded by waves. Be careful when trying to get a closer look--these little snails are sometimes called he i'a make--fish of death--in reference to how dangerous collecting them can be.
